On February 19, the reporter learned from the provincial communications administration bureau that in 2021, Henan Province plans to invest 13.21 billion yuan to build 51,000 5G base stations and strive to build 96,000 5G base stations in Henan Province by the end of this year, realizing the full coverage of towns and rural hot areas.

5G network has become an important starting point for Henan's new infrastructure. By the end of last year, the number of 5G base stations in Henan had reached 45,400, achieving full coverage of 5G networks in urban areas above county seats and covering key scenes on demand. This year, "expanding the coverage of 5G network" was included in the top ten key livelihood matters of Henan Province. The provincial communications administration will take the strategic cooperation agreement between the provincial government and the four central communication enterprises as the starting point, coordinate the three major operators and tower companies, and continue to expand the scale of 5G base station construction. Among them, China Mobile Henan plans to build 15,000 5G base stations; China Unicom Henan plans to build 13,900 5G macro stations; China Telecom Henan plans to build 1,523 5G outdoor stations; China iron tower henan branch will undertake to build more than 50,000 mobile communication tower projects.
